| Domestic Landscaping for Subsurface Drip Irrigation |
|
Subsurface drip irrigation is buried 150mm below the surface and emits water at rates according to the soil type. In sandy soils the spacing can be 300mm apart where heavier clay soil can be 500mm apart and flow rates can range from 1.66l/h up to 3.01l/h. An anti-siphon mechanism shuts down upon suck-back preventing blockages within the drip system. During watering a series of circles eventually join to give an even spread of water throughout the soil profile reducing plant stress and uneven growth . Root invasion is prevented by using a "Tech Filter" that dissolves and discharges minute doses of 'Trifluralin' a widely used agricultural herbicide that accumulates around the emitter and creates a no-go zone. This filter is changed every 2 years. Common lawn pests can also be treated by dissolving herbicides and insecticides in the water during regular watering. All our systems can be automated using indoor or outdoor solenoid activated controllers. On garden areas we use anti-siphon brown dripline which sits on the surface and is often covered in mulch to retain moisture. |
